Welcome back to Emily’s Life Plan for the Week, a weekly newsletter where I share my personal notes and recap every little detail from my previous week’s tiktok videos (follow me on tiktok, instagram, youtube & twitter @emilymariko)!
I spent last week in Waikiki, Hawaii with my family! Here’s a recap of everywhere we went to eat, everything I wore, and the places we hiked/ran!

Food
Island Vintage Coffee
Delicious coffee and breakfast food. I loved their iced island latte made with coconut and macadamia nut syrup, and their yogurt papaya boats with extra lilikoi on top! Lilikoi is passionfruit!
Island Vintage Wine Bar
Fresh and beautiful appetizers and cocktails! The guava and lilikoi mimosas are a must-try. My favorite appetizer we ordered was the poke sampler. They also serve entrees and shaved ice!
Maguro Brothers
The best poke I’ve ever had. My Japanese grandma was with us on the trip and she said the same! Incredibly fresh and lots of different options to choose from. I recommend getting the combos so that you can try different things! And definitely order a size large!
Marugame Udon
Incredible udon with fresh noodles that you can watch being made! There’s always a line so arrive early when it opens. I loved how the tempura was self-serve so you could just keep piling different ones onto your plate! I learned from my comments that there’s also a location in the bay area!
Rainbow Drive-In
Come for the loco mocos. No-frills and delicious. The macaroni salad on the side was great!
Musubi Cafe Iyasume
The absolute best spam musubi takeout! Go for lunch and bring them back to eat on the beach. The tamago spam musubi is my favorite. Ume shiso is also delicious if you can get your hands on it before it sells out! There are multiple locations!
Leonard’s
Malasadas puffs from here are a must-try. 12 different filling options, and the chewiest, fluffiest texture. My favorite was guava (of course)!
Kono’s
Easy to-go breakfast burritos featuring lots and lots of kalua pork!
Foodlands Farms
Local grocery store with all of the fun treats to bring back home. I picked up things like lilikoi infused honeys and jams, macadamia everything, and hawaiian red salt to make my own kalua pork!
